The latest release this time is in the civilian vehicle range

CEV35.  Bedford RL CO2 Airfield Crash truck  -  £18.00

This vehicle type was produced in the 1950's for the Ministry of Transport & Civil Aviation and was deployed at the main UK airports of the time as well as various RAE Establishments.  It used the bodies off redundant RAF Austin K6 CO2 trucks and mated them to Bedford RL 4x4 chassis.  The vehicles passed into BAA control when that was formed and then passed down to smaller airports as larger, more modern vehicles were acquired by BAA.

2 new releases now available:-

BW313.  Volvo FL6 Long Range Convoy Escort  - £21.00

Built by the firm of  Carmichael on the Volvo FL6 chassis for the MOD in the early 1990's, the vehicle is classed as a Convoy Long Range Escort vehicle for use when convoys carrying highly sensetive material (normally nuclear material) are on the move.  The vehicle is crewed by Defence Fire Service personnel and as of 2010 it is still beleived to be in service.

BW319.  Austin K6 Breakdown Gantry.  - £19.00

This vehicle body type was introduced into service in 1944 on the chassis of the Austin K6.  The rear body was also fitted to other vehicle types.  It was used continuously through until the early 1960's with regular units and possibly even longer with TA units

BW317.  Glover Webb Uparmoured APV (N. Ireland)  -  £14.00

The Glover Webb APV entered service around 1985 and approximately 200 were acquired.  They were used in their original form until about 1993 when a uparmour package was introduced for the vehicle type which included among other things the addition of slab sided plates to the roof, sides, doors and rear of the vehicle giving it a chunky appearance.  The served through until approximately 2001, when it is beleived they were all withdrawn from service and disposed of.

BW314.  Volvo FL6/HCB-Angus Domestic Fire Tender (DFS)  £22.00

This vehicle type was acquired by the military in the early 1990's for use as a Domestic Fire Tender on major bases and other large military sites around the UK.  It is not know how many were acquired, but it's believed most are still in service today.

2 new releases to announce this month.

No 1.Glover Webb Armoured Patrol Vehicle @ £13.00 .

As used in N Ireland.  Around 200 were purchased by the British Army in 1985.  The kit shows the vehicle in it's original configuration.  They were only seen like this for around 5 years until approx 1990 when all the vehicles were uparmoured with chunky add on armour.   That version will be the subject of a further kit.  

No 2.  Cranes / Zwicky 4500 Gallon Aircraft Refuelling Trailer @ £20.00

This was a companion trailer to the AEC Mammoth Major Refueller, already available in the range.  They could be seen on a regular basis around RAF airfields.
